Web Certifications

Web certifications, as with any certifications, have a two-fold advantage. Firstly, in order to gain the certifications, you have to study all the material that is needed to pass. The certifications provide a structure to your learning and ensure that you cover all areas of the subject you are studying. Secondly, once you have gained the certifications, it proves that you have all the knowledge to do your job, or to further your career in another. With web certifications, there are a number of different options to choose from, some of which are discussed below.

CIW Certifications

CIW is said to be the industry standard in web technology education and certification. They provide a number of different vender neutral certifications, starting with their foundation series, which then lead to more specialist certifications that include web development, web design and web security.

W3Schools' Certifications

W3Schools offers certifications in specific web technologies, which include, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, XML and ASP. Although there is a cost to gain each certification, studying for them is free, as the content is freely available on their website.
