Vendor Neutral Certifications
The International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, or (ISC)2 as it is more widely known, is a non-profit organisation that provides vendor neutral cyber security training and certifications. Below are the certifications that it provides.
- Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) - "Proves to employers that you have the foundational knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for an entry or junior-level cybersecurity role, as well as comprehension of best practices, policies and procedures." - (ISC)2.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) - "Recognises information security leaders who understand cybersecurity strategy and hands-on implementation. Proves professionals have the knowledge and experience to design, develop and manage an organisation’s overall security posture." - (ISC)2.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Concentrations - "Builds upon the CISSP with additional recognition for one’s expertise in cybersecurity architecture, engineering or management." - (ISC)2.
- Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) - "Shows professionals have the technical skills to implement, monitor and administer IT/ICT infrastructure using information security policies and procedures." - (ISC)2.
- Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) - "Shows professionals have the advanced technical skills and knowledge to design, manage and secure data, applications and infrastructure in the cloud." - (ISC)2.
- Certified in Governance, Risk and Compliance (CGRC) - "Shows advanced technical skills and knowledge to protect, authorise and maintain information systems with various risk frameworks." - (ISC)2.
- Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) - "Recognises leading application security skills. Shows ability to incorporate security practices — authentication, authorization and auditing — into each phase of the software development lifecycle." - (ISC)2.
- HealthCare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner (HCISPP) - "Proves ability to successfully implement, manage or assess security and privacy controls for healthcare and patient information." - (ISC)2.
